Writing It Real

Sheila Bender was originally referred by a mutual friend in Port Townsend in 2007. She already had a complex database driven membership site but she wanted a fresh clean look. I worked closely with her programmer to integrate the custom CMS and we added a back-end Wordpress blog to the mix. Then I designed business cards to match the site. Seattle Collaborative Law Training Group

This site uses an existing logo and greatly expands and enhances the original site's content and structure. We used WordPress posts for the training calendar. This design is a little more "corporate" than most I do. It was fun to do something different. Sheila is a magician! She took four seperate visions and wove them into a website that shines for us. SoCo Culture

The South King County Cultural Commission came to me because I had designed the Eastside Arts Coalitions first website. They didn't have a logo. In designing the logo and looking at their domain name possibilities, I came up with the idea of calling it SoCo, catchy, like SoHo in NYC. What a great name... Moon Rock Massage. So suggestive. They'd had a Vista Print website and card. We took the colors from there and the rounded corners and went to town figuring out the best way to bring in the moon and rocks. The logo and website are simple and elegant and they are thrilled. When I started working with Terry Simpson in January it was only to design his logo and business card. Then he came back and wanted me to pick up his website, already in progress.
