Surgery Recovery
I’m happy to report my recovery is going well. With a removable boot instead of a cast I’ve been able to get to the YMCA pool most weekdays to get some exercise. Thanks so much to my friends who are providing rides as I still cannot drive. I start PT next month and will gradually start adding some weight-bearing. My hope is that I’ll be walking again by Thanksgiving. Time will tell.
New…logo, brochure & WordPress website
This was a fun project. A long-time friend came to me with a colleague and needed a brochure and website for a conference they’re putting on in March. Since they plan to continue producing them it was a natural to include a logo and make the site in WordPress so they’ll be able to update it with new events. Click on the thumbnail to see their website. And here is a direct link to their new brochure. Please pass it on to anyone you know in the legal profession.
You might want to hire a good copywriter
Most of my clients are on a tight budget. And most of them figure since they know their business best, they’ll save some money and write the copy themselves. However, there are many benefits to bringing in a good copywriter. For one, they bring a fresh perspective. For another, they know what works and what doesn’t. They’ll help you clarify your communications and make every word count. They also know what the search engines are looking for so they can integrate your keywords into your copy. I’ve met two great copywriters through my affiliation with Biznik. I’m happy to refer you to them. To check out their websites, click on their names: Russell Smith & Jared Matthew Kessler.
Cool Tools, Tips & Resources
- Free Online Photo Editing
This is useful if you don’t have Photoshop. They also have free audio and video editing as well as other tools. - Free Readability Tool
This free tool is worth bookmarking for times when you’re trying to view a site that is too hard to read due to small type, layout and/or white text on black background. Choose your preferred settings once, then bookmark and anytime you can’t read the page simply click the bookmark. Voila! Now it’s a readable page! - Are you often away from your inbox?
I’ve never used this tool, since I hardly ever GO anywhere! But I’ve heard good things about it. Here’s their description: AwayFind is a powerful web application that finds your most important emails. When you receive an urgent message, AwayFind will notify you with a call, SMS, IM, DM (Twitter), or delegate the message to someone you specify.
