WordPress Beginner Camp
Have you always wanted to learn a little more about how to use WordPress? This year WordCamp split into two with the March event focused on experienced users. The fall Camp is targeted to beginners and is scheduled for Saturday, October 24. There’s a great lineup of topics for beginners, including a presentation by yours truly. The all day event is only $20 and includes lunch. Sign up soon before tickets sell out.
I met Myrna Hoffman at a WordPress Meetup 5+ years ago. We hit it off immediately, in some small part due to our common last name. She’d just had her website built using the Headway Theme which I was using at the time. We’ve remained friends and when it was time for an update she turned to me. We converted the site from using Cart66 to WooCommerce for the shopping cart and updated to Elegant Themes Divi so the site is now mobile responsive. I also added new accessibility tools so that anyone with visual restrictions can change the color and text size as well as adding hidden information for screen readers in the blog.
If you or anyone you know have kids, her offerings are fun, creative and unique. They’d make a great holiday or birthday gift. Visit the OOZ & OZ website.

Thinking about a new website?
My colleague Nicholas Hopp nailed it when he says “The question I wish you would ask is what the value of a new website is to your business—not how much will it cost.” Read his blog post “How much does a new website cost?” if you’re debating a new website and think you can’t afford it. He addresses the value when you think of your website as an employee and your salesforce. Then talk to me. I work out easy, no-interest payment plans when needed.
